How it works

From provisional to P-plates

  1. 1

    Get your provisional

Apply on GOV.UK from 15 years and 9 months. It costs £34 and takes about a week.

  2. 2

    Start your lessons

Most learners need about 40 hours. We pick you up from home, college or work.

  3. 3

    Pass your theory

Practise with our free quiz and the official app, then book the test for £23.

  4. 4

    Take your practical

In your instructor’s car, with a warm-up lesson first. Then keep the L-plates as a souvenir.

Theory test practice

Ten questions. How many can you get?

Our free quiz uses the same kind of questions as the real theory test, with the Highway Code answer explained every time.

Take the quiz

What is the national speed limit for a car on a single carriageway road?

  • A 50 mph
  • B 60 mph
  • C 70 mph

Unless signs say otherwise, cars may do up to 60 mph on a single carriageway and 70 mph on dual carriageways and motorways.
